If you use Moonclerk or PayWhirl to charge customers on a recurring basis, switch to our built-in tools for selling subscription products. This way, you can fulfill orders, manage customers, and merchandise your products all from Squarespace. By using our built-in tools, your site will look better, feel more cohesive, and customers won’t need to switch platforms to buy your products. Squarespace subscription products are fully supported by our Customer Support team, unlike using custom code.
Note: You can only sell physical and service products as subscriptions. It’s not possible to accept donations on a recurring basis at this time.
Before you begin
- To switch from Moonclerk and PayWhirl, customers will have to re-subscribe to your products in Squarespace. There’s no automatic way to import subscribers and their payment details.
- If you’re new to Squarespace Commerce, Connect your site to a payment processor, and learn about other steps to set up your online store in Understanding Squarespace Commerce.
Switch from Moonclerk
Step 1 - Review your Moonclerk Forms
In Moonclerk, review the Forms dashboard and take note of the subscriptions you want to add to Squarespace.
Step 2 - Add products to Squarespace
If you don’t have one already, create a new Products Page in Squarespace. Then, add new subscription products with the same renewal details. To learn more, visit Subscription products.
Tip: You can schedule products to appear in your store on a certain date. This is a good option if you have multiple subscription products and want to release them all at once.
Step 3 - Contact customers
When you add your subscription products to Squarespace, current subscribers and their payment details won’t be imported. You should let customers know you’re switching platforms, and that they’ll need to re-subscribe to your products in Squarespace.
In Moonclerk, go to the Plans dashboard to view subscriber details.
To make the transition as smooth as possible, ask customers to re-subscribe in Squarespace on the date of their next renewal. Let them know:
- Which product they’re subscribed to
- When their next renewal date is
- Where they can purchase the same subscription in Squarespace
Step 4 - Cancel recurring Moonclerk plans
In Moonclerk, cancel recurring plans to prevent future Moonclerk renewals.
Step 5 - Delete the Moonclerk Code Block
In Squarespace, delete the Code Block with Moonclerk embed code. If you have a page dedicated to Moonclerk subscriptions, you can also delete the page.
Switch from PayWhirl
Step 1 - Export your PayWhirl plans
In PayWhirl, review the Plans dashboard and take note of the subscriptions you want to add to Squarespace.
Step 2 - Add products to Squarespace
If you don’t have one already, create a new Products Page in Squarespace. Then, add new subscription products with the same renewal details. To learn more, visit Subscription products.

Step 4 - Cancel PayWhirl subscriptions

FAQ
Can I import subscribers?
No. Customers must purchase your subscription products in Squarespace to continue their subscriptions.
Can I accept donations on a recurring basis?
No. Only you can only sell physical and service products as subscriptions at this time.
